HISTORY
The founder of Consultants & Specialist Surveyors was a Director of the Peter Cox Group (for over 10 years), which was originally started in 1951.

In 2005 the parent Company of Peter Cox – Ecolab made a strategic decision to move away from Asbestos Surveying based on concerns in America.

The existing Specialist Surveying Services Team formed Consultants & Specialist Surveyors Ltd which is now known as CSS. The expertise gained over many years is now available to you.

You can join the growing number of Local Authorities, Major Retailers, Building Contractors, Property Management Companies, Estate Agents, Housing Associations and Commercial Companies as well as private individuals who are using CSS to safeguard them and their contractors from the hazard of asbestos.

The new team is able to offer a Nationwide Service and also the full range of asbestos surveying services in order to help you to comply with the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations.

LOCATIONS
The CSS Head Office is located in Derby with Surveyors nationwide located throughout the UK. You can contact us locally through the surveyor network or let us do the leg work by contacting your Central Administration Service Centre.

QUALITY ASSURANCE
Training

The group training policy encompasses employees at all levels. In-house training programmes, particularly for surveyors, are on-going. The understanding of the detailed technical aspects of surveying and the nature of Asbestos itself are combined to ensure the well being of our clients, their staff and any contractors who work for them. We also make sure that they understand their liability under the law. Risk assessments are a critical aspect of our work and we pay much attention to the detail to protect both ourselves and our clients.

Surveyors are qualified to a minimum British Occupational Hygiene Society P402 and some to CSRT, CRDS and CTIS standards.

Equal Opportunities

The company complies with its statutory obligations under the Sex Discrimination Acts 1975 and 1986, the Equal Pay Act 1970 and the Disabled Persons Act 1944, and observes as far as possible the Commission for Racial Equality’s Code of Practice for Employment as approved by Parliament in 1983.
